Acer took to the stage today to give a glimpse of the Acer Iconia Tab A700. Not much was shared with the audience besides the following information:
- Quad Core CPU
- 1280 x 800 pixels resolution on a 10.1 inch
- Will be released with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
CES 2012 Updates - Lenovo IdeaPad S2

We have always been fond of Lenovo line of tablets and the Lenovo IdeaPad S2 certainly feels like an exciting piece of gadget! It will be:
- Having a weight of around 1kg
- Will be running Android 4.0
- Comes with a dock that transform it into a device that resembles more like a netbook but it still remains very thin
- Lenovo chooses to go with a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S2 MSM 8960 instead of a quad-core processor.
- Display of 1280 x 800 pixels resolution on a 10.1 inch IPS screen.
CES 2012 Updates - Huawei Ascend P1 S

The world's slimmest smartphone? Huawei is certainly making their presence felt as a global player in the Android smartphone arena with their release of the Ascend P1 S. More commonly known for manufacturing budget Android offerings, Huawei seems determined to position themselves as a premium global brand in 2012. And what a way to kickstart the year!
More information on the Huawei Ascend P1 S
- Thickness of 6.88mm!
- Dual-core 1.5 GHz TI OMAP 4460 CPU running Android 4.0
- 1GB of RAM
- SGX540 graphics processor (same as the Galaxy Nexus)
- 4.3-inch qHD 960 x 540 Super AMOLED touchscreen
- A 8MP rear camera, with a 1.3MP front camera
- A particular feature to note is that even though the Ascend P1 S is running Android 4.0, there are still the customary physical Back, Home and Menu key - which seems odd to us. Perhaps, it is meant for users running Custom ROM?
- The Ascend P1 S and Ascend P1 (the relatively fatter brother) will be released in North America, Europe, Australia, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region in April 2012.
CES 2012 Updates - Sony Xperia S

There was much speculation and anticipation on what Sony will share with us since this is the first major event that Sony will be participating in since buying over Ericsson from their joint venture. As it turns out, it is not the Xperia Arc HD that was released but rather the Xperia S
Some information:
- A little bit of design embellishment: Sony will be making it mandatory to incorporate a distinguishing design into their future smartphones in the form of a see through strip near the bottom of device. We certainly thought that it is an effective and relatively cheap way to give their smartphones an original and unique feel.
- A 12MP camera
- Sporting a 4.3 inch Reality Display screen, with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixel
- Running on a dual core 1.5GHz processor with Android 2.3. However, this phone is scheduled to be updated to Android 4.0 by the second quarter of 2012.
- Sony Exmor R technology which allows the camera to be up and running in 1.5 seconds and can go from pic to pic in two seconds flat
- Playstation-certified!
CES 2012 Updates - Sony Xperia Ion

The updates from Sony certainly coming fast and hard with the revealing of the Xperia Ion.
Some information:
- Dual core 1.5Ghz processor
- 16GB internal storage
- 12MP rear camera with a 1.3MP front camera
- 4.6 inch Reality Display with 1280 x 720 resolution
- Sony Exmor R technology which allows the camera to be up and running in 1.5 seconds and can go from pic to pic in two seconds flat
- Playstation-certified!
- Will be released with Android 2.3 but an upgrade to Android 4.0 should not be far away

LG has always been, in a way, playing catch-up to the market leader in terms of their Android offerings. However, the LG Spectrum does pack quite a punch and even trumps the iPhone 4S in terms of display resolution!
- Sports a dual core 1.5Ghz processor
- 4.5 inch HD IPS display which has an even better resolution than the iPhone 4S at 329 pixels per inch. Suffice to say, the quality of content streaming looks great.
- Will be released with Android 2.3 but an upgrade to Android 4.0 should not be far away
- A 8MP rear camera, with a 1.3MP front camera
- Release date of the LG Spectrum is 19th Jan 2012 in the US, exclusive to Verizon, with a price tag of $199.99 with a 24 month contract.
