HTC Android 4.0 Updates Coming ‘Later this Year’

Last Updated on Wednesday, 22 February 2012 22:13

Through its Facebook page, HTC announced new details about their plans of updating their smartphones to Android 4.0. If you own any of these devices (or all, if you’re THAT rich), you will be pleased to know that the latest mobile OS is headed towards you! The catch is, you will have to wait for it just a little ‘later this year.’

Here is a list of HTC devices getting the Android 4.0 update:

  • HTC Amaze 4G
  • HTC Desire HD
  • HTC Desire S
  • HTC EVO 3D
  • HTC EVO Design 4G
  • HTC Incredible S
  • HTC Rezound
  • HTC Vivid

The device manufacturer also posted information that they will be adding 3 Verizon smartphones to be part of their ICS updates. These devices include the HTC Thunderbolt, HTC Rhyme, and the Droid Incredible 2. Rogers and Bell customers in Canada, who are using the HTC Raider, will also be getting the update.

While the release date of ICS update on the above mentioned models have not yet been specified, HTC has done otherwise for some of its previously promised models including the HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation 4G, and HG Sensation XE.

These three devices will be receiving the ICS update by the end of March. Soon after that, HTC will be following up with the ICS update for the Sensation XL. ICS will also be available to the HTC Rezound, EVO 3D, EVO Design 4G, and Amaze 4G in November.

If you’re the owner of any of these devices, just be patient. The update is coming pretty soon!
