Samsung Galaxy S II Plus Instead of Galaxy S III

A few days ago, Samsung confirmed that they do not have any plans of launching a Galaxy S III at the upcoming MWC. With this bit of news, many got disappointed because they have been expecting the successor of the Galaxy S II, the company’s highly successful device, for a very long time. Nevertheless, Samsung still has plans for the Mobile World Congress and we hear that they will be introducing a number of devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S II Plus.

Honestly, this is the first time we’ve heard of such a device. Scoping around, we found out that the device made an earlier appearance on An3DBenchXL’s benchmark database. Through this source, we also learned that the Galaxy S II Plus is packed with a WVGA display, Android 2.3.4, and 1.5 GHz CPU processor; pretty remarkable processor, compared to the original Galaxy S II’s 1.2 GHz processor.

While information about the processor manufacturer has not been disclosed, many believe that it is Samsung’s own Exynos processor. In addition, many think that the Galaxy S II Plus is actually a customized version of the Nexus; which features TouchWiz UI apart from Android 4.0.

If the Galaxy S II Plus is real, we hope to see it at MWC later this month. But we’re still secretly hoping for Samsung to surprise us with the Galaxy S III, which is the TRUE successor of the Galaxy S II.
