If you have plans to go to the Mobile World Congress this weekend, it is important that you are aware of the possibility of bumping into a planned Spanish transportation strike happening in Barcelona.

Even though the MWC starts on February 26, the event will be ongoing from February 27 to March 1. During these days, the transportation strike will also occur on any day and is believed that the strike will affect major buses and metro routes throughout Barcelona.

In addition, there is an expected 60,000 attendees for this year’s MWC. We don’t know how this will affect the tourists who will be flocking to Barcelona for the MWC but we do hope that no one will be harmed or injured.

Meanwhile, GSMA (the organizers of the MWC) believes that the transportation strike will not affect the event that much. In any case, they have stated that there is a comprehensive contingency plan in the event that the strike will happen during the MWC period.

So if you’re headed to Barcelona for the MWC, just a little heads up: arm yourself with a travel app on your Android device. Or you can also prepare your device with lots of Google Map advices. After all, we don’t want your trip to be ruined just because of the strike.
