Verizon - Motorola Droid 2 R2-D2 Special Edition to be available from 30th September!

Yes you see that right. Verizon will be releasing a R2-D2 Star Wars Special edition of the Motorola Droid 2.

Good news for Star wars fans! The R2-D2- inspired Motorola Droid 2 will be available in stores from September 30th 2010.

The blue and white version of the Droid 2 has been officially launched by Verizon and everyone is just waiting eagerly for actual sales to start!

This R2D2 Special Edition, as per the Motorola Droid 2, runs on Android 2.2 or Froyo, as it is fondly called, and it contains a built in Adobe Flash player 10.1.

Other phone features include:

  1. Larger keypad
  2. 1 GHz Snapdragon processor
  3. Mobile 3G hotspot
  4. Online multi touch keyboard (It supports both physical keyboards and touchscreen, a key feature of Droid 2)
  5. 3.7 inch touch screen display
  6. 5 MP camera
  7. 8GB built in storage

The R2-D2 version will be available online only and will contain Star Wars content with external hardware that resembles the real R2D2 in the movie. Now, when will there be a C3P0 version? =)
