To install 3rd party Android applications on your Android phone, there are several free apps in the Android Market that can help you to do just that.

Steps as below:

  1. Copy the APK file you want to install to your phone's memory card.
  2. Go to Android Market and search for the AppsInstaller or ApkInstaller application.
  3. Choose any one of these apps and click on the Install button.
  4. After it is installed, open the app (AppsInstaller or ApkInstaller).
  5. It will show you all the 3rd party APK files stored directly in the root directory of your memory card.
  6. Just click on the application you want to install
  7. You are done!

Alternatively, you can choose to use Astro File Manager. In general, the same steps as above will apply.
