It looks like Android users are mainly using their handsets for applications instead of surfing the internet as much. In order to decide which apps to download, many users turn to the Apple app store to check the rankings. According to the iTunes Charts' ranking of paid apps, Angry Birds is at the top at the moment.
This puzzle video game was first released in 2009 and has since rocketed to the top spot. Like all games of this caliber, it can be played on the tube, in your lunch-break at work, or at home if you want a change from playing something like partypoker. The aim of this game is basically to launch wingless birds at pigs using a slingshot. The player is trying to destroy all of the pigs, and there are various stages of the game. The success of this game is probably due to its addictive style, as well as its low price and colourful characters.

In union with the animated film Rio, Angry Birds has also released Angry Birds Rio. Here, the birds have been kidnapped and are now in Rio. They have managed to escape and are trying to save their friends Jewel and Blu. There are 45 colourful levels, with more regularly being added. Available worldwide on both smartphones and tablets, this game is a great success.
Another Angry Birds version which is further down the lost of top apps, is Angry Birds Seasons. As can be seen by its title, this game is based around holidays. Originally released as Angry Birds Halloween, it is updated with each holiday, including Christmas, Valentines Day, St Patrick's Day, Easter, Summer and even the Moon Festival.
Great for light entertainment all throughout the day, Angry Birds is set to enjoy even more success in the future.
