The intense competition between iPhone and Android is beginning to look a lot like the age old battle between the Mac and the PC, and to a lesser extent, Intel and AMD.
With the release of iPhone 4 in Singapore and other countries on the 30th July, the team at AMU believes that now is the right time to take a closer look at the iPhone 4 and how it fares against the current Android heavyweights. For this match up, we have shortlisted the HTC Evo 4G, HTC Incredible and Samsung Galaxy S.
And we have with us now a showdown for: iPhone 4 vs Samsung Galaxy S vs HTC Evo 4G vs HTC Incredible!
Red Boxes = iPhone, Green Boxes = Android, Amber Boxes = Tie

At first glance, it seems that the Android heavyweights are as good as, if not slightly better, than the iPhone 4.
But considering that the iPhone 4 manages to chalk up 4 ticks against 3 other Android heavyweights by itself, I do believe that it is fair to conclude that as of now, the iPhone 4 is a better phone than all the current Android phones in the market AT THE MOMENT. This becomes evident if you single out, for example, the HTC Evo 4G and the iPhone 4. iPhone 4 has better display resolution, slimmer, lighter and have longer battery life than the HTC Evo 4G.
In a certain sense, this should not come across as a surprise considering that Apple has spent significant amount of time integrating and improving many of its features prior to the release of this version of iPhone. Similarly, by the end of the year, I am sure that an Android phone will be released that will surpass the current specifications of the iPhone! Perhaps, an Android phone running on Gingerbread? =)
This, in my opinion, can only be good news for the consumers and although Android loses this battle, the war is far from over.
